Operation A.B.L.E.

Operation A.B.L.E. partnered with a number of leading Massachusetts employers and career centers to launch this one-of-a-kind program that prepares participants for entry level jobs in customer service. Participants commit to working 20 hours per week in a non-profit or government agency, earning $8.00 per hour while they learn. This “paid internship” experience enables trainee workers to update their skills, develop new capabilities, and gain greater self-confidence. After a period of paid training, the SCSEP program assists in the transition to unsubsidized employment.

The A.B.L.E. program staff is performing various tasks at the CSC:

• Citizenship classes provided every Wednesday from 4-6 p.m.
• Alphabetization classes designed for those adults’ individuals who can not write or read on their own native language.
• Front desk support and fund raising research.
