The Greater Lawrence Community Action Council, Inc in partnership with the Exchange Clubs of the Merrimack Valley sponsored the following events:

The “Blue Ribbon Campaign” is held each year for Child Abuse and Neglect awareness. The Blue Ribbon Campaign is dedicated to bringing awareness to surrounding communities about the traumatic effects of child abuse and neglect.

Every April, the Family Support Center sponsors an awareness breakfast for State and local officials and for the community, to bring awareness to all that Child Abuse is a devastating public health issue that should be taken very seriously.

On St. Patrick’s Day each year, the Haverhill Exchange Club sponsors a St. Patrick’s Day Breakfast to bring awareness about and to raise funds for the prevention of Child Abuse.

In April, the Haverhill Exchange Club also sponsors an event where Choirs join together to “Sing Out Against Child Abuse” to raise awareness and funds for the prevention of Child Abuse.

“Dining Out For Children”: Throughout the month of April, The Blue Ribbon Campaign Committee and Family Support Center staff display program information at different restaurants such as Fuddruckers of Methuen and North Andover and The Chateau Italian Cuisine in Andover. This event is to bring awareness to communities about Child Abuse and Neglect.

The Michael B. Christensen Memorial BOCCE Tournament, sponsored by the Lawrence Exchange Club, is held at the D & B Indoor Baseball facility on Rt. 125 in Andover on the second Saturday of every November.

Throughout the year, the Salem Exchange Club sponsors ten Texas Hold ‘Em Tournaments a t the Rockingham Race Park with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Family Support Center.

During the month of December each year, the Salem Exchange Club has a Christmas Tree Sale – on S. Broadway NH.

In April, the Lawrence Exchange Club host “Fight Night” held at the Andover Wyndham with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Family Support Center.

One Saturday every April, The Newburyport Exchange Club coordinates a “Quarters for Kids” toll booth in Newburyport, with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Family Support Center.

The Michael B. Christensen Memorial Blue Ribbon Golf Tournament, organized by the Blue Ribbon Campaign Committee and the Exchanges of the Merrimack Valley, is held at the Andover Country Club each August.

Throughout the month of April each year, The IRS sponsors a fundraiser for the prevention of Child Abuse. In 2008, the IRS raised over $16,397.13 with 100% of the proceeds donated to the Family Support Center.

The Methuen Exchange Club, each year, hosts the “Taste of Methuen” raising funds for community projects with a portion of the proceeds donated to the Family Support Center for the prevention of Child Abuse.

The Blue Ribbon Campaign Committee sells Blue Ribbon Campaign items: 4 styles of blue ribbon pins, two styles of bracelets, Blue Ribbon Magnets and coffee mugs in hopes of bringing awareness to the devastating cycle of Child Abuse and Neglect.
